Santa Monica–Venice Christmas Run Welcomes Wonderful Halos as Title Sponsor for 2018 Kids’ Run
Set for Saturday, Dec. 15, the Wonderful Halos Kids’ Run will take place at the finish line adjacent to Venice Pavilion after the 10K and 5K. It promises to be a fun, festive and fit day for the whole family!
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Nov. 12) – The Santa Monica-Venice Christmas Run is thrilled to welcome Wonderful Halos as the title sponsor for the 2018 Christmas Run Kids’ Run.
Now known as the Wonderful Halos Kids’ Run, the partnership is a perfect fit between a family-friendly fitness event and a locally grown produce company that focuses on health and wellness as one of its core missions.
“We couldn’t have imagined a better fit for the title sponsor of our 2018 Kids’ Run,” said Bruce Mitchell, race director and owner of the Santa Monica -Venice Christmas Run, celebrating its 41st year. “The Wonderful Company’s philanthropic mission of supporting community wellness is perfectly aligned with our family-friendly, health and fitness focused race.”
“As America’s No. 1 most-loved healthy snack, sponsoring this year’s Wonderful Halos Kids’ Run is the perfect opportunity for us to bring families and friends from the community together for a feel-good event –and a snack they all love,” said Adam Cooper, vice president of marketing at The Wonderful Company. “And since Wonderful Halos are back in season, look out for the Pure Goodness of Halos at this year’s Run which are grown and hand-picked straight from our orchards.”
The 2018 Santa Monica – Venice Christmas Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, starting at Ocean View Park in Santa Monica and finishing adjacent to the Venice Pavilion. New for this year, runners will be spritzed with snow as they cross the finish line! Many participants wear holiday-themed costumes and the annual race is a family tradition for hundreds of repeat participants each year.
“We’re grateful for all the community support we receive for this event each year,” noted Mitchell. “We hit a speed bump when we had to defer last year’s race by one week due to the Southern California winter wildfires, but this year’s forecast is looking great and we’re planning to be back for a wonderful celebration of running, health and the holiday season.”
The Christmas Run supports local non-profits each season, including Harvest Home and, in 2017, the Salvation Army of Southern California, directly benefiting the wildfire victims.
