About The Christmas Run

5K, 10K, & Youth Run

The Christmas Run 5K, 10K, & Youth Run is a popular holiday tradition that has been taking place for over 40 years. The race, which is held annually each December, features a 5K, 10K, and Youth Run run that winds through the beautiful streets of Santa Monica and Venice, California.

The first Santa Monica-Venice Christmas Run was held in 1977 started by a group of local runners who wanted to create a fun and festive way to celebrate the holidays. With a beautiful course through two California towns and festive post-race holiday celebration at the finish line, the race quickly became a popular event, and today it attracts thousands of runners from all over the world.
